Final Reflection/ 30A

1) The toughest moments in this class I think were finding 10 (new) people to interview. I am not an outgoing person and I really just wanted to interview people I know. A lot of the assignments made me go outside of my box and talk to strangers about my business or ask them questions I normally don't feel comfortable asking people. 2) The best experience I had was talking to the owners of the Asian market/ cafe I like to visit. I have always been friendly to them but talking to them about opening a vegetarian restaurant was very informative. They even told me that they are planning to open their own here in town soon! I am very much looking forward to supporting their local business. 3) I think I have a better attitude when it comes to taking risks. I know that the reward a risk may lead to will far outweigh the loss that may happen. Failing is okay and almost guaranteed, the only way to succeed is to fail. And once you fail at failing, you will know success. 4) I have to sa...

Venture Concept No. 2/ 29A

1) Opportunity:           There are many changed happening in our society. One major change is the spread of veganism. More and more people are going vegan or vegetarian. Studies are showing the health benefits and more people are becoming aware of the abuse in the animal agriculture industry. This has made the trend more common and vegan products and restaurants are popping up left and right. Another trend I have noticed is the fast expansion of my home town Ocala, Florida. We are growing from a small town into a large city very quickly. With these two trends moving rapidly, it is a matter of time for a vegetarian restaurant to appear in Ocala. As of now, there are little options for vegans or vegetarians so any “treats” are up to the person to create themselves. The first investor to open a vegetarian restaurant in Ocala will definitely be successful as they will have all of the business of vegetarians and non-vegetarians in Ocala. Innovation:  ...

Reading Reflection No. 3/ 27A

I chose read Inbound Marketing by Brian Halligan because I think it is very relevant to businesses today and we are all effected by inbound marketing. Web presence is more important in business than ever and most leads come from websites and online marketing. From the book, I learned that inbound marketing can be effortless and basically do the work for you. If you are smart and creative, you will never have a shortage in leads. The trick is to stay relevant, different, and to pay attention to what works and what doesn't and make adjustments as you go. Brian Halligan

Your Exit Strategy/ 28A

1) If my restaurant is successful I would pass it down to my kids. I would like to make enough money to where I can retire and let my kids run the place. 2) I chose this strategy because I would like for my kids to have something great that I created and worked really hard for. They can run the business for a little while and if they decide to sell it or franchise then I would be supportive of them either way. 3) Well one of my biggest influences for my idea is my lifestyle which I plan to also pass down to my kids. Hopefully they will also hold value to supporting other local businesses and farmers and use them for resources.

Celebrating Failure/ 26A

1) Well as my classmates already know, I like to make art. During this semester, I have been struggling to learn this "really awesome new medium" called Inktense. It is water soluble ink that is permanent when it dries however it is applied like watercolors. I have tried several times to get used to this medium and I have not yet successfully finished a project. Every time I use them, the paper buckles and the colors move around where they aren't supposed to. Its very frustrating. 2) During this, I learned that I cannot use them like other mediums because it is it's own entirely. I want to compare the pencils to colored pencils and the blocks to water colors and they just aren't the same in the least. They need to be applied in a completely different way and I am just not picking up on it very easily. 3) I am perfectly fine with failure. Yes it may be frustrating to do the same thing over and over again not being able to get it right, but if there is never fai...
