Solving the Problem/ 8A

Vegetarian Restaurant in Ocala

To solve the problem of vegans and vegetarians in Ocala not having many menu options and there being no fully vegetarian restaurants in Ocala I would of course, open a vegetarian restaurant!

In my interviews, I discovered that having healthy options is very important to vegetarians. My restaurant would serve lunch and dinner and have menu options such as bean burritos, wraps, sandwiches and even flat bread pizzas! The menu items would not come with your typical chips or fries, but customers would have the option of fresh fruit, homemade potato salad and simple side salads. Smoothies and juices would also be served all day and offered as drinks with lunch and dinner plates (with a small up-charge). Of course the drinks that come with meals would not be your typical soda machine choices, but we would have an assortment of teas, sparkling waters, and even Kombucha! The environment would be very classy and clean where customers would arrive to a table set with plates, silverware, water glasses and fresh flowers.

The venue would also include a small bakery that sells desserts such as brownies and cookies and breakfast treats such as muffins, croissants and fritters.

I would even start a community garden outside the restaurant where people can plant and harvest what they'd like.

  1. Hey! I am actually loving your idea even more now. The environment that it sounds like you would create sounds like such a relaxing place. Honestly, when I go out to eat its usually to enjoy a splurge for the week with a bunch of bad food, but if I could go to a nice clean place such as this it may persuade me to bring my business here. Also, offering croissants and muffins does not make vegetarian food seem so bad after all! The community garden would offer a solid twist on your restaurant that I have not seen offered elsewhere.

  2. This sounds like a very nice and pleasant restaurant. Something to keep in mind is are there enough vegetarians in Ocala to support a restaurant. Even if the few who do live there love it, if there are not enough customers a restaurant cannot survive. Having worked in a restaurant I know its a lot of work but you seem to have a vision and the drive to succeed!

  3. Hey Brittany! I am getting into your business more and more. As I mentioned on past comments, I'm not really vegan person but I love your ideas. The restaurant you imagine looks perfect and pleasant. You discovered several problems on past interviews and mentioned even small problems that would face. I can see how much you focused and worked on this project. Hope to see this business as soon as possible. Best 8A assignment! Great job.
